"Benchmarking of Waste-to-Energy plants" is a service offered by Pöyry Energy business group to players in the Waste-to-Energy market. Currently, benchmarking includes only plants in Switzerland. However, it will be both possible and desirable to expand this benchmarking to other Waste-to-Energy markets if interest arises from other countries.
The waste market is being increasingly influenced by competition between providers of waste-disposal. In order to ensure sustainable success in this competitive environment, operators and owners of Waste-to-Energy plants are being encouraged to continuously audit and minimise their operating costs. A comparison - a so-called "Benchmarking" - with the competitors is very enlightening as to how to optimise such costs.
