Saica-4 Cogeneration Plant, Spain
Saica is a Spanish leading company in paper
production, with a capacity over 1.5 Mt/a.
The project involves a new pulp&paper mill
to be erected by the old modules Saica-2 and
Saica-3. To supply the required energy, a 54 MWe
combined-cycle cogeneration plant was projected,
with a gas turbine, heat recovery steam generator
with afterburners and steam turbine. HEYMO
has been contracted to develop the complete
engineering services, including project manage-
ment, general programming, permitting, collab-
oration with Saica in design criteria, monitoring
and control, as-built documentation, etc.,

Tableros Garfer Cogeneration Plant, Spain
Tableros Garfer has two close mill producing wood
articles like boards, furniture and others; they use
thermal oil in two different temperature levels
for the drying and shaping process phases.
After the feasibility study developed by HEYMO,
a cogeneration plant was projected to produce
efficiently the heat and electricity required by
the mills, selling the excess to the grid. The plant
was built in a new building adjacent to the mill, placing
the engines and the ancillary systems in the floor
level and the air coolers on the roof. HEYMO supplied
the EPC, including detailed engineering, civil works,
permitting, coordination with utilities and assist-
ance to integration in process, 1999-2000

Thai National Power Public CCPP, Thailand
110 MW gas-fired cogeneration power plant com-
prising two Frame-6 gas turbine units, one steam
turbine, auxiliary systems, civil works and build-
ings. Lead EPC Consortium partner to design,

Anodial Española Cogeneration Plant, Spain
In order to upgrade the anodizing process and
improve quality and production, Anodial Española
moved its facilities to a new industrial state.
The production process requires chilled and hot
water, formerly produced by separated systems;
besides, the process needs important amounts of
electricity for the electrolysis reaction. Based on
the feasibility study elaborated, the implementation
of a CHP plant for integrated electricity and heat
production was decided, exporting excess and
generation water in the different required tempera-
tures. After establishing the optimum technical and
economical plant size, the scope for HEYMO included
an EPC supply, from the permitting to the plant
integration in the productive process, 1998-2000
Madrid-Barajas Airport Energy Supply Systems,
Spain
The Madrid-Barajas Airport was enlarged with
a New Terminal Area, which covers the necessities
until 2010. The energy demand for this building
is covered from a new power plant located in an
energy station with a 27-MWe heat and power
cogeneration, the electrical systems and a control
system network node. The new power station is
located within two adjacent buildings, placed
between the New Terminal Building and the Satellite
Building, in the new area. Five dual fuel engines
and the thermal systems (chillers, pumps and ex-
changers) were installed in one of the building,
while the electrical equipment (transformers, panels)
and the control and monitoring system are located
in the second one. The cooling towers were erected
outside, near the water facilities. HEYMO executed
different feasibility studies, alternatives analysis,
basic engineering and detailed engineering, for
the different facilities, 1997-1998
